I think it has to do with the stigma that YTT is the place to post your Personal Music Countdown (even if it doesn't explicitly say it). That's why people like me are getting confused

People in YTT can be a bit...clique-ish. If it's not contemporary pop music to pit stan bases against one another then they can be a bit stand offish. I'd personally be way more interested in a film countdown than a music one. The entire site is about music.
+ request countdowns - sadly - are not as popular. I them because they're more interesting.
I don't listen to enough music that ATRL likes to make a musical YTT that would get positive reception.
Like, my top artists this week were Michael Buble and Guns N' Roses. No one would have cared.

Maybe its how one interprets the quotes
The ATRL forum headings and new thread notifications are horribly outdated. No one will care if someone does a non-musical countdown. There's not even any moderation in the forum to begin with. If someone doesn't like the idea of a non-musical countdown then they don't have to participate in it.
