As for TLOU that's a different kettle of fish, people play that for the story. But what about games like CoD, Battlefield, etc... they are bland and boring, you die and respawn so there's no fear or tension, it's meaningless, they have teeny tiny maps and it's pretty much the same game every time you play it.

Well I do not play COD or Battlefield because they are boring as well. Ask the good sis BTrisc why she wastes her time with such basic games, because I definitely do not touch them.

Kii, that game is about how you "feel" while playing it. It's not about tactics, it's about emotion. It's about those moments where you look into that screen in front of you and just stare into the beauty speechless. We just prefer different types of games...

To add to this discussion, I definitely found Journey to be boring as hell but it was also stunningly beautiful. At the end of the day, no two gamers are going to have the exact same taste when it comes to video games; everyone connects to games differently, whether they connect more with the fast paced action or they become hooked with the story and want to see what happens with the characters and the universe put before them.

Troy Baker (the voice of Joel) tweeted out this link today; an entire behind the scenes documentary on everything that went into making 2013's Game of the Year. I'm watching it right now, and it's definitely a MUST SEE for even casual fans of the game.
