Countless artists, including Adele, probably one of the most talented artists of our time, would disagree with you. She canceled one of her concerts and pretended to be sick to see a legend perform. And apparently she HAS done something that influenced the way artists write and produce their music, because Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Adele, Miley Cyrus, and countless others have cited her as an inspiration.

No. They're all FANS of Britney. Doesn't mean her music influenced the way they write their music.
Adele skipping out on a concert to go see Britney perform doesn't make Britney a legend nor does it mean Britney influenced the way Adele crafts her music (which she clearly hasn't)

An HONOR? LMAO what? It is a library. Being in there isn't an honor. If it was an honor, it would be a publicized event.
The Hall of Fame Library has a copy of Whitney's duet with Enrique Iglesias. Yet they don't have copies of any of Mariah's albums.
It's called research. Try it sometime.

Funny, because many outlets, like MTV, felt the need to write articles about how it got inducted.

It wasn't inducted. As already stated, the only place induction takes place is in the Rock and Roll Hall of FAME. The Hall of Fame Library and Archives is NOT the Hall of Fame, nor is it the "record equivalent".
http://rockhall.com/inductees/induction-process/
Show me where it says albums and singles get inducted. Go on. I dare you.
And crying @ MTV being the "end-all, be-all" of outlets.

Nicki Minaj has cited Spears as a major influence on her career, and commented, "the fact that she came back out with just so much fire inspires me, and it inspires young women and people all over the world. It just inspires you. A lot of my fans feel like they are the underdog and feel like they are the people who aren’t ever accepted for themselves, or who are laughed at or poked fun at forever. It just goes to show that once you keep at whatever it is you’re doing, people may not like you, people may not love you, but they will have to respect you at the end of the day. And that respect is all that matters." Lana Del Rey revealed that she is compelled by Spears in an interview with MTV, saying, "I'm not really interested in a ton of female musicians but there is something about Britney that compelled me – the way she sings and just the way she looks."[243] Del Rey also said that the "Toxic" music video is a main inspiration of her work. During the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga said that Spears "taught us all how to be fearless, and the industry wouldn't be the same without her."

Also note worthy she made a VH1 list of top 50 females of the video era. Legendary accomplishment

I guess we will agree to disagree on this. And you are right, albums and singles aren't inducted, they are added. I apologize for the misuse of the word inducted. But even if you don't see this as an honor, Britney has received countless other awards and been recognized in various other ways, anyway, so this whole thing with the archives ends up being a drop in the bucket anyway.

Again, it's not her ACTUAL MUSIC influencing these people. It maybe her recovery, her celebrity status influencing people, but not her MUSIC. That's completely different.
"The way she sings" OK @ Lana saying that . Yes her electronic manufactured vocals are very inspiring.
"They way she looks" again - not music.
What Gaga said gives no indication for Britney's music influencing her music. And very uncultured of Gaga to say, as if countless other fearless artists didn't come before her.
I think people love to compliment Britney because Britney has many fans. Easier way to get people to like you.
But Britney's music didn't influence their music. It's clear when you compare their music too.

Beyonce is a legend. The only one of her generation.
Xtina is no longer adding accolades to her legacy but her voice alone solidified her as Legend X [to Atrl ]
Britney isn't respected or considered talented by many, so she can't be a legend.

What are we disagreeing on? That being added to the library is a type of induction or honor? Because it isn't. If it was, it would clearly say.

"Inducted" and "added" are synonyms. If you're going to play Semantics, at least know what you're talking about.
And the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum's Library and Archives are in integral part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How can you even pretend they're not comparable?

Playing catch up is not the same thing as being more legendary than someone. This post gives me 2011 Little Monster teas when they argued that Gaga was a bigger legend than Madonna because her work was selling better at the moment

Britney was at one time great [10 years ago], that's called a fad not a legend, now all she does is tarnish her already damaged legacy with every move she makes. She is no way a legend. She does not command respect from anyone in the industry. Just pity.
Beyonce on the other hand continues to add iconic moments and accolades to her already impressive career. Hell, even Xtina is still adding hits and giving births to careers.

Welsh singer-songwriter Marina Diamandis, known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds named Spears as the main influence for her Electra Heart album, stating that, "I think people thought I was joking about that for a long time. But when I was a teenager there was a genuine connection with this sweet girl who also had this very sexual side that people didn't really want to accept [...] Britney is really smart. And in the way that she inspired Electra Heart, if you step back from all the cynical stuff, it actually focuses on the idea of innocence being mixed with darkness. For some reason I really like that combination. I suppose because you don't really connect innocence with darkness." Diamandis has also stated that Spears is her main influence when it comes to popular culture and that Spears is one she aspired to being growing up. Spears has had a direct influence on singer Porcelain Black's work after growing up around her music as a child. Black describes her music as a "love child between" Marilyn Manson and Spears, with Spears's work being one of the main inspirations for Black's debut album.
Just a few examples of where people actually directly mentioned Britney's impact on music, instead of just implying it like the others did. And mess at you going after Lana and other now too...

Stop with the Wikipedia receipts. Plenty of people are inspired by others before them. Still doesn't make Britney a legend. A legend is respected by her industry not just female pop stars after her. She's not.

Uh....no.
Induct (v.): to admit formally to a position or organization.
Add (v.): join (something) to something else so as to increase the size, number, or amount.

Because they are NOT comparable. The Hall of FAME is established to celebrate specific music acts who changed the industry through musical excellence. The Library was established because the Hall of Fame foundation desired to create a place where people could get material from the rock and roll era for personal or academic use.
You're welcome.
