Welcome mate!
"Dark Horse" will definitely be Katy's next #1, and it will most likely be atop the chart for many weeks. However, worldwide will be a bit harder considering it's already run its course in two of her strongest markets (Australia and New Zealand*). It taking off a lot faster in the U.S could also lead to more unevenness of peaks, and thus a lower worldwide peak, but it could also mean that it could garner more chart points due to songs taking a while to peak in the U.S compared to the rest of the world. Of course this is assuming it will do well in other markets, which I'm sure it will. Will be interesting to watch!
* A video release might see it return slightly for a week or two, but I don't think it will truly reignite the chart runs unless Katy decides to promote there.

If not from another artist, from them themselves. I realize not every pop song has to have insane vocals, intelligent lyrics, interesting instrumental and new concepts but couldn't it at least get near to having any of those things? That's all. To expect two "artists" to present songs with artistic merit is not pretentious. Criticizing a song for being very obvious isn't pretentious. They're not immune from critique. I find it much more pretentious to build songs like this up and then tell other people they're self-righteous for not liking it. And I realize not every song has to be a masterpiece. It is pop music after all. But does that mean that we no longer need to try?

It's a shame seeing people post this about Ke$ha. She does have quite a diverse collection of songs on all her bodies of work, but the singles chosen to illustrate them are not the best candidates for the job.
