Celine doesn't get her dues on here (not surprising tho).
She literally slaughters Mariah and Whitney in sheer numbers alone. Celine has outsold them both by significant amounts and continues to outsell everyone (her latest is gonna do more than most of the current pop girls). Her touring numbers are legendary, only Madonna is above her in that aspect, and she is widely respected for having one of the best voices ever. Only Whitney and Aretha beat her in that aspect.
Madonna, Cher, Barbra, and Diana are the only girls who deserve to be above her, and most of that is because of the amount of time they've been around.

Madonna - this one's easy the Queen of Pop
Janet - Her innovation in choreography and production etc...
Whitney - Most awarded female artist of all time, successful movies & soundtracks. Definiton of album seller, set the standard for vocals that led many even till this day trying to replicate her blueprint etc...
Mariah - reintroducing that five octave range and whistle register to a new generation. Her fusion of hip hop with her image/sound that many other later have taken notes from. Being one of the most influential vocalists etc...
Diana Ross - the triple threat an amazing performer, artist & actress. She broke down so many barriers being a crossover star, she paved the way for every black diva in her wake (Whitney, Bey, Rihanna etc..) etc.......
no order

Of curse Celine get's her dues but it's not only about sales many list others above her because she isn't as innovative which is a huge factor nonetheless

I'm kinda tempted to put Barbra above Madonna because she's SO much more legitimately respected and also by far the most successful singer-turned-actress in history.

This is hard.
Madonna.
Whitney Houston.
Aretha Franklin.
Barbra Streisand
Mariah Carey.
Runner ups are Celine Dion, Diana Ross, and Tina Turner.

Well if you look at criteria the OP listed, you'll see this isn't too far off base.

. Madonna
. Janet
. Barbara
. Mariah
. Whitney
. Diana Ross
. Tina Turner
. Cher
. Aretha
. And ne last person I can't think of right now

Or because you're biased against Madonna.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. Madonna's influence over the current pop girls is just so strong, though. They all take after everything she did.
If you want to talk about respect, I still don't think Madonna has that much from the public. People will give her credit for sticking around, for being successful, but she's still seen as talentless to a lot and more of a businesswoman and sh*t disturber over anything else.

I think the 90s were such a huge time for female pop stars that their sales inflate their impact. The biggest selling female artists of all the time are all from that period, and that is mostly due to the fact that it was.. That period.

TC is a beyonce stan, hence him trying to use criteria that fits beyonce. He could've added many other things that fit other girls but not beyonce, but he didn't

Madonna, Celine, Whitney, Tina Turner, and ???
After having travelled, I hear Whitney and Madonna's catalogue EVERYWHERE I go. It's insane how many times ive heard Frozen, Power of Goodbye, a Whitney song in a cafe/mall/etc.

Just thought I'd tell all the Adele haters that she has had a successful movie, technically. Her concert film, Live at the Royal Albert Hall was HUGELY successful for a music DVD. And she had a very successful era with 19 in the UK and some other countries. It's not her fault the Urban Dictionary controversy caused "Chasing Pavements" to flop in the US. Not to mention she has "Skyfall". Not to mention her album is the fourth best-selling album of all-time, ahead of some of the greats like Mariah and Whitney. Plus, 21 has sold more than some of the greats' discographies. I believe prior to the release of BEYONCÉ, 21 had sold more than (or near more than) Bey's entire discography. Don't quote me on that, but I've been told that. I just think you all need to give Adele more credit. I'm not saying she's flawless, I'm not saying she's better than Aretha or Whitney or Mariah. But she is one of the most successful female artists out there. Yeah, maybe not top 5, but regardless, a lot of ATRL does not give her enough credit.

Sista calm down. Nobody's denying Adele's success. Maybe if she puts out 3 more albums on the same level of success with 21 she will earn a spot on this list. Just that, in pop nothing's for certain until it happens. Madonna, Whitney, Mariah, Barbra, all have flopped to the pits of hell at one point in their career. And they came back (except Whitney maybe.) You can't say anything in advance.
