Mariah can always play her AIWFCIY card aka the biggest song by a female pop gurl. Plus she has plethora of hits and her influence in Pop, R&B and Hip-Hop is noteworthy. If Whitney is "The Voice", Mariah is the "Other Voice". The Yin/Yang of ultimate voices.

I was with you until here.
Celine, although has next to no long lasting contributions, has sustained a level of success that can't be ignored. She's the best selling female behind Madonna, and continues to have success in sales and touring.
As for Janet, her contributions in dance, performance, and image are irreplaceable. So she's pretty much set in stone regardless of what she does from here on out.
Mariah and Whitney are petty much ying and yang. But Whitney came first, so unfortunately Mariah will always be second to her. Nevertheless, Mariah has still created a lane of her own.
