As I mentioned in the OP, we want to maintain a welcoming environment for all of our viewers, whether they're at home, school, work or any public setting. Much of the material in avatars, thread posts and blogs made it difficult for public browsing and tainted the bigger focus of what we're trying to provide as a pop forum.

It's often the case that a loud minority sounds like the vast majority before the dust settles. That said, this isn't a numbers game for us. We made a decision to get rid of the explicit content, and we'll stand by it regardless of the impact on traffic/hits. If anyone finds that these changes break their experience and enjoyment here, they should definitely move to a forum that provides what we're now prohibiting.

I understand the moderation of avatars etc but the restrictions on blogs makes no sense at all.

Seriously, if someone registers on this site to talk about people like Rih, Gaga, Madonna, Katy, Miley, whatever - they have probably watched music videos and heard lyrics containing swearing, nudity and, dun dun dun, shade.

This isn't the Dora the Explorer forums, I'm fairly certain that the average age of ATRL users is greater than 10
