i would rather have the production on MBDTF. i can't see the production that Kanye had on Yeezus going along with this song. especially BOTL

i actually like the production of this, its not over the top. it fits with his rap since sometimes it can be overwhelming for some people, i feel like it was balanced well

Though so far I must say that Kanye's music has been far superior to Eminem's. Sure Eminem has a better flow, but his lyrics and production are sucking hard this era.

i think his subject matter is the thing. what does he have to rap about now? he's one of those rappers that needs to be the underdog to rap, he needs motivation and ambition, he needs an opponent (which is why he's a superb battle rapper), now that he's at the top, there's really nothing left for him to rap about....

but i am one of those people who think that talent wise he's still there, i don't think his talent is a problem, but i will say he flowed naturally better before Encore, could be due to his overdose that messed him up.

I'd love to see him and Kendrick aka the only other high profile rapper who has a pair of balls go at it.

eminem has ALWAYS been a lyrical rapper

kanye is NOT a lyrical rapper

eminem will ALWAYS been a far superior lyricist to kanye, his rhyme schemes and his use of literary elements are far superior.

even though this era has only been three songs, name a kanye song more lyrical than Survival, actually name a kanye verse that's more complex and lyrically better than Survival's third verse (not even close to his best verse btw)

music quality and especially production should not be discussed when determining who's the better rapper

flow should
technical lyricism should
complexity should
storytelling should
freestyling should
all the other attributes to lyricism should (punchlines, etc)

you could say Kanye makes better music nowadays, but that's subjective, and that doesn't make him the better pure rapper.

just for fun i'll add in the only two rappers that were more skilled as an MC (aka better rapper) than prime Eminem were prime Nas & prime Rakim.

even though the second verse on Renegade is better than any verse they ever put out (check signature for more info)
