I have NO problem with what Beyonce does but i do have a problem with people thinking that she is an iconic feminist. in fact it's an insult to the feminist movement to call her one.

A masculist is the same as a feminist, but for men's rights.

Basically there are no feminist icons of this generation because this generation is pretty much liberated from most of the things feminism needed to liberate them from (in the western world). Let's name some other ones if Beyonce isn't one. I don't think she's a feminist icon but she certainly is a feminist.

She is a good bit more respectable than the Spice Girls but I agree that it's girl power rather than feminism. The only thing about her that in my opinion is conducive of a feminist icon is the fact that she is such a good business woman.

In all these tracks, she speaks about a woman doing something for herself & empowerment for women.
I would list Bow Down because she says "I took some time to live my life, But don’t think I’m just his little wife"
which is ironic because people want to get on her because she has a husband, a happy marriage, and isnt afraid to sing about that either. I dont think some people are understanding what feminism is. To the public eye shes saying, I mean the entire Upgrad U isnt the best feminism song. I was using it though because she does speak about empowerment for women in a sense of being in a relationship with someone whos successful as well
