The actual story is that the fan went on stage and sang in a way that was "emulating" Britney, Demi gave him a no not because she thought he was bad, but because she didn't see a place for him in the industry, being a guy, that sounds like Britney.
The whole story was posted a few pages ago, the person went on exhale and wrote about his audition.
No one was trying to be mean, he tried to sound like her and it just didn't work.
