BoTB '13 Week 6: Great Username, I Tried
Probably the most anticipated week of the first round - with good reason, as apart from one artist (a certain Australian), no act this week had a massive consensus pick for the top song. Should be interesting to see what you all make of what you all selected.
Kylie Minogue, performing Can't Get You Out of My Head
Justin Timberlake, performing LoveStoned/I Think She Knows
M.I.A., performing Bad Girls
Ke$ha, performing Tik Tok
Brandy, performing I Tried
Annie, performing The Greatest Hit*
Carrie Underwood, performing Just a Dream
Grizzly Bear, performing While You Wait for the Others
Taylor Swift, performing State of Grace
* WMG won't let The Greatest Hit onto YouTube, probably due to its large sample. It is available on Spotify though!
If you want to join, the rules are simple - listen to all nine songs, comment on them, and rank them; your favorite track gets a nine, your least favorite gets a one, and everything else falls in between. Votes due FRIDAY.

They're all predictable. I was really disgusted that great tracks that are perhaps more indictative of their respective artists catalogs - Wildest Dreams, Begin Again, Party at a Rich Dude's House - didn't even make their respective artists' top fours.
The less said about Kylie her picks the better; I was the only one to vote for album tracks.
Looks like I need to bring FYCs back.

9 - CGYOOMH - It's perfect, not much else to say about it.
8 - The Greatest Hit - The Madonna sample is EVERYTHING. Plus, it's all around a really compelling song emotionally.
7 - I Tried - WOAH. I had only heard Afrodisiac once and kind of brushed it off as boring. Um, this song is amazing. Love the strings & horns. btw what's with her obsession with Coldplay?
6 - State of Grace - I don't mind this being her pick. It's awesome and fills me with a rush of sentimentality. If it hadn't been for Brandy kind of sneaking up on me surprisingly I would have given this a 7. Very very good though.
5 - Bad Girls - "Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well" seems like such a cliche but she manages to make it sound cool.
4 - Lovestoned - It's a cool song.
3 - While You Wait for the Others - Very, um, stuttery? It's a good song that's not as boring as I would expect from that band.
2 - Tik Tok - It's good, but the bridge is really a waste of time.
1 - Just a Dream - lol
