I don't think Jo needs a mentor, she has much experience.
But I do agree. She said that she has enough material to release 7-8 albums in a row, and from how her leaks are sounding, I wouldn't be surprised if those albums went #1.

She won't give a contract update until her and her team settle things in court.
I admire her so freaking much, because she just wants to "sing the soundtrack to people's lives," rather than make money. She wants to spend most of this year touring and just experience performing, because when she recorded her first two albums, she never had the chance to have her own headlining tour.

IDK but she's signed to a 7 album deal and she's only released two. Apparently there is some law that if a label doesn't release any of your music for 5 years then it makes it a whole lot easier to leave the label without any issues but about 2 months before it was going to be 5 years since JoJo had an actual release, they released Disaster to iTunes and radio.
Anything she says now can be used later on in court against her to make her look bad which why she isn't outright bashing them, like she wants to.

One good thing out of this mess is that everyone is starting to see her struggle.
From "All I Want is Everything" to "Jumping Trains" to "Can't Take That Away From Me" to "Agape" to over 50 leaked songs, she has created a lot of hype for her and the continuous support from TeamJoJo has definitely spread. More people aren't just seeing her as an artist who went under the radar for a long time, but as an artist who is fighting to break free from the captivity of an office-less, bankrupt label.

She might be able to get out of that. Interscope signed a distribution deal with Blackground, so it wasn't entirely Blackground who released "Disaster". And "Sexy to Me" was released by Clearasil.
This is terrible, love JoJo and thinks she's extremely talented and this label is obviously holding her back, what's the point of being stuck on a label when they're broke and you can't release new music

I mean in a way they did. It's just very sketchy how Disaster suddenly got released 2 months before it was going to be the 5th year anniversary of her last single, "How To Touch A Girl".
I don't remember how it works exactly but I remember someone tweeting her about that rule or whatever and she replied with "Disaster".
Thats just sick. I mean why the is the guy clinging onto her? Let her go and its just wrong to chain her like this. Especially releasing a single just to hold onto her longer! Disgusting.

The GP haven't forgotten her yet. I mean, Disaster got into top 40 iTunes after all these years, and archieved moderate success on pop radio
