If you saw his original auditions, he barely made it through but he brought fire. Then the audition before this he let her down and she told him to step it up. Singing a balladish song that is cute but basic and not interesting only made his fight worse. She was disappointed that he didn't choose a song to fit his personality and take his claim. Who on earth would pick THAT lady gaga song when they are fighting for a spot. Edge of glory would have worked better than that forgettable. lame duck song.
I mean he could have even done H.A.T.E.U, Bye bye, or I want to know what love is and had a better shot.
I imagine as Mariah continues to push back her album, get next to no press or press for being boring as Nicki gets great press and is compared to Simon, we will have to deal with these stunts to garner attention and shade Nicki.

Because she's a huge superstar. She knows how to make it and she's even getting her own record label. Isn't that what these artists want? Getting signed? So it's great to see some people that understand the business on the panel. After all, she's a talented rapper, I know it's a singing show though.
