Her new album will not sell worse than Femme Fatale imo (or not much worse), she's still relevant in the music business and each release has hype. And the FF era wasn't a flop like some think, she had some of her biggest hits
Hey britney stans! i'm a britney fan too and i just love her cultural impact given in past 14 years! and I realize it watching a bio show where she's the one featured in it!
I started to know her around 2005 when i was 5 yrs old and the first song i hear is Everytime, Toxic and Oops
in 2007 i started to know her more because of her controversies and songs Like Piece of Me, Gimme More
and at those time I'm already singing her songs
at 2008 I became a fan alredy and that's because of the Circus Era I remember i keep on listening and I say one of my trinities are her 4 singles she release (Womanizer, Circus, IYSA, Radar)
2011 until now I am now more updated about her!
My sister like her too but she dislike her because of her sexual appearance to the audience and I remember recently i sing Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know she was angry with me because Britney is such bad influence in its video!
My fave songs of her are Everytime, Lucky, DLMBTLTK, BOMT, OIDIA, POM, Circus, IYSA and many more!
I'm hoping to have great friends here like in the Taylor Swift fan base thread!
I like her current songs but im getting forward to listen all the songs she released from 1998 - 2007!
Princess Britney!!!!

some of her biggest hits? nah
but I agree .. the "Femme Fatale" era was not a flop at all , it was a bit disappointing (we were expecting more results and sales) but it wasn't a real hardcore flop either. it was just ok.
I really hope her next era performs better than this one, I'm pretty confident it will if she releases her album on october or november
If Britney does a few performances at award shows, and interviews here and there it would be okay.
If she does do Vegas, it will give her a bigger chance of promoting, because she isn't all over the place. She will reside in Vegas, which will give her free time. Let's just hope she doesn't marry a back-up dancer for a day
LOL. True. I hope that she does take this time to actually promote more. I actually hope she runs the award circuit, tv interview and radio interview circuit.
If indications are right that she will start at the end of the year (let's say December)
Continue recording February, March, April
In March Scream and shout will peak at #1 on radio
It will probably fall out of top 10/20 late April
Release new summer smash single in May
Perform or present at the Billboard Music Awards
Promote during the summer (tv interviews, radio interviews here and there)
Release album at the end of August with 2nd single with blitz promo that week
Attend VMAs in September
Rehearsals in August, September and October
Attend AMAs in November
Vegas starts in December (the last week with New Years).
Hopefully the Vegas gig starts on 4th of July weekend. I feel like a summer gig will work so much better because more people will be open to taking vacations and coming to see her. Crossing fingers for July.

The Vegas deal is one of her best contracts and one of her team's best decisions EVER. Artists work their whole lives and careers for this kind of opportunity. Britney's situation is monumental because she was able to achieve this well into her career while still being HOT. She is constantly being compared to the it-girls despite already being a veteran in the industry. Only she can get away with this kind of situation and you all better respect her for that. I also hope they use the Vegas platform to cross-promote her album as well as the show. It's very easy. Pre-record a performance at the venue and air it on those morning shows as well as awards. That's promotion for the album and the Vegas show.
Not sure they work their whole lives for it but it is a good deal. Most artist starting out as teens don't even make it past 21 with relevance so it is a testament to her to be 31 landing this gig.

And, if the residency is in November, that could mean lead single as early as July and album as early as September. But I would rather something along the release dates of Red: lead single in August (VMA's? A boy can dream). and album in October. That would be fine with me. She's worked on it since summer 2012 so it won't be rushed.

You're only saying that cuz it's Brit. Any other pop girl and it would be for hasbeens.
Well, if Beyonce, Gaga or Pink did it no but if Christina, Jessica Simpson or Jennifer lopez did yes. When you have had consistent hits and have had albums consistently become certified you are the exception to the rule.

Not many artists get offered something like this. This is BIG money and BIG business we are talking about here and you would have to prove yourself in the industry that you are a money maker (for which Britney is just based on Forbes alone) to attract a huge audience. Britney is tried and tested and her longevity and legacy is safe no matter what. The X Factor is proof of that. There is no veteran in the industry right now who is in a better position than she is to do a Vegas residency and do a successful world tour and have hit singles at the same time. NO ONE.
You are simply ignorant beyond belief. You don't know the first thing about how to manage an artist's career. Britney is not a Gaga, a Katy, or a Rihanna who have to hustle in order to keep relevant. Britney's already paid her dues. She's above wasting her time doing tacky morning shows or appearances when she could spend more time with her family. She wasn't the baddest bitch during BOMT-ITZ for no reason, and she now has the luxury to rub shoulders amongst legends while compete with the generations after her.
Your last paragraph is key. SHe has paid her dues and she doesn't have to hustle to keep relevant. She played the game early in her career. 1999-2004. I don't think she is above morning show/appearances she just doesn't need to be overexposed anymore. Just go to key promo circuits.

There's many things wrong with this. First Vegas shows usually attracts the older demographic. The artists that headline these shows are not "hasbeens", but older artists who can't really get a hit single or album, but can still sell out major shows. Britney is not a veteran, in the grand scheme of things, she's still early in her career. For her to be doing a show like this 15 years into her career is not something that's good.
It can mean a), its for the money, or b) she's not as marketable as she used to be.
Britney is not "above" doing morning shows, she needs them. Look at the sales of FF compared to Circus. Ever since she started to promote herself less and less, her sales decreased. If she continues, she will just turn into a singles artist, she needs to push herself. Not artist can release an album and have it sell well with no promotion. And to be honest, the fact that she did X Factor, and then Vegas shows that she is heading towards the path of older acts which she is not.
She is a veteran in the entertainment industry, though. Many pop careers don't have longevity. Madonna was a veteran when she put out Ray of light. Janet when she put out All for you, Michael Jackson with that flop album with the amazing song 'Butterflies'
She did X factor to help expand her audience so that there mainstream America could see that she was stable. believe it or not there are people that not only thinks she is crazy but associate her with doing bad things as if she is Lindsay lohan still messing up...it's not 2007 anymore. Simon wanted controversy but it backfired. Britney got great reviews from critics and the general public but the bad reviews was that she was too boring. Boring = not doing stupid things =growing up and maturing and showing the general public that she can handle the job = image repair = collecting a $15-18M check for baiting Simon into thinking he could use you for his gain and you use him for your gain.
Only a bad b!tch.

Who cares at this point, I'd rather her do this than go on ANOTHER world tour, which she would have if she didn't take this gig.
She needs to lay off the touring for a few years, make there need to be a demand. And if the show is well-received and successful, a demand will come from it.
Residency or no residency, she ain't promoting **** so some of you need to stop acting like this will get in the way of that.
OMG. Imagine her in 2004 taking on this responsibility. Mess.

OMG Perfection personified. Not a lie told. Still glad she's doing Vegas but if only Britney parodies were this funny. I don't like the Beyonce comment. Britney did Superbowl in 2001...let's not.

I'm just so curious about this era. I don't know what to expect at all.
I like that this is not predictable. I have a strong feeling that the music will be in a league of its own.

I think that any studio album released in the 3rd or 4th quarter by Britney will sell 1M at least.

This.
Let's say she gives us 14 tracks + 2 deluxe tracks
now I've been a supporter of Britney in Vegas but I don't know how I will deal if her shows are at PH. It's GARBAGE and she is way too big for that trash. I'm just gonna pray that she ends up at a different venue

i dont live in the usa but i have read some comments and they say that the best place is planet because it attracts young people while in ceasar and other r going older people. ...
EDIT i speak like a 5 year old child ,rip , but u get my point
I think people are overreacting ONCE AGAIN to the choice of venue. I'm thoroughly convinced that Britney has a better chance of selling out in PH than she does at any other, more older-oriented venue. If we're doing this Vegas thing (which we are), I will NOT be here for half-sold shows. NO MA'AM. So PH all the way!

that's somewhat true. I mean the stage is huge and it's nice overall but I dunno, basic? I just don't like the idea of Britney & PH, just the perception of someone who has been to vegas many times.
