If Britney does a few performances at award shows, and interviews here and there it would be okay.
If she does do Vegas, it will give her a bigger chance of promoting, because she isn't all over the place. She will reside in Vegas, which will give her free time. Let's just hope she doesn't marry a back-up dancer for a day

(You love it, you love it)
I'm so hooked on it, hooked on it
(You want it, you want it)
It's so good, a good thing
(Sugar fall, your sugar fall)
You make me sugar fall, my sugar fall
(You know it want it bad, babe)

The Vegas deal is one of her best contracts and one of her team's best decisions EVER. Artists work their whole lives and careers for this kind of opportunity. Britney's situation is monumental because she was able to achieve this well into her career while still being HOT. She is constantly being compared to the it-girls despite already being a veteran in the industry. Only she can get away with this kind of situation and you all better respect her for that. I also hope they use the Vegas platform to cross-promote her album as well as the show. It's very easy. Pre-record a performance at the venue and air it on those morning shows as well as awards. That's promotion for the album and the Vegas show.

Well, the fact that this residency might not even last an entire year, I can see why they want as much people as possible to attend. Plus, don't forget that the theater holds 7K but can be reduced to as much as 4K so, they can either do one of two things: 1. Leave it with 7K seating with a more moderate price. 2. Reduce to 4K-5K and make it more expensive. Either way, seems fine to me.
And I agree with B-dawg. Let us not forget that the people who are more likely to see a Britney Spears show will be more likely to flock to PH (as tacky as you all think it is) vs. Caesars which really is for older people (since it is a more expensive hotel).
And, if the residency is in November, that could mean lead single as early as July and album as early as September. But I would rather something along the release dates of Red: lead single in August (VMA's? A boy can dream). and album in October. That would be fine with me. She's worked on it since summer 2012 so it won't be rushed.

Oh, and YAS at no world tour. I'm really happy that there is no WW show. Quite honestly, I was afraid that if she toured this time around again, it would be a disaster sales wise because it would be literally 1.5 yrs. after the Femme Fatale Tour.
As far as sales are concerned, I expect Album 8 to do about 2M-2.5M WW. Mostly because it'll be released likely in Q4 so it'll have healthier sales. If she sells that much, I think that's pretty decent and nothing to have a meltdown over. She's gaining more predominance in European countries with S&S (that she didn't have for FF) so that should also be a factor.

It's possible. But she'll barely scrap her way past 1M if that's the case. But, yes, I would hope for that. I just want some promotion for Black Friday week, so we can see a nice sales boost. Or an album discount that week.
But, I don't see another Circus era sales-wise. That just ain't happening. I mean, I hope I'm wrong but I don't want to be disappointed when her album doesn't pass 3M.

Damn. Aside from Blackout, Britney sold really well all those years (considering all of these albums were released with literally a month before the end of the year ). This from IFPI (so it's VERY reliable and counts both physical and digital sales). Couldn't find 2009-2011. Anyways, if you look at it objectively, Britney sold better with FF than she did with Blackout. Femme Fatale was #25 on Mediatraffic's WW year-end chart and Blackout couldn't crack the Top 30 from this list I posted. I mean, yes, the # of actual albums sold is lower for FF than Blackout but she sold better in this album climate than she did in 2007's album climate.

For some odd reason, I would like to see Britney working with Bangladesh if she's serious about the urban route.

You think a Vegas residency is something to frown upon? EDUCATE YOURSELF!
Not many artists get offered something like this. This is BIG money and BIG business we are talking about here and you would have to prove yourself in the industry that you are a money maker (for which Britney is just based on Forbes alone) to attract a huge audience. Britney is tried and tested and her longevity and legacy is safe no matter what. The X Factor is proof of that. There is no veteran in the industry right now who is in a better position than she is to do a Vegas residency and do a successful world tour and have hit singles at the same time. NO ONE.
You are simply ignorant beyond belief. You don't know the first thing about how to manage an artist's career. Britney is not a Gaga, a Katy, or a Rihanna who have to hustle in order to keep relevant. Britney's already paid her dues. She's above wasting her time doing tacky morning shows or appearances when she could spend more time with her family. She wasn't the baddest bitch during BOMT-ITZ for no reason, and she now has the luxury to rub shoulders amongst legends while compete with the generations after her.

There's many things wrong with this. First Vegas shows usually attracts the older demographic. The artists that headline these shows are not "hasbeens", but older artists who can't really get a hit single or album, but can still sell out major shows. Britney is not a veteran, in the grand scheme of things, she's still early in her career. For her to be doing a show like this 15 years into her career is not something that's good.
It can mean a), its for the money, or b) she's not as marketable as she used to be.
Britney is not "above" doing morning shows, she needs them. Look at the sales of FF compared to Circus. Ever since she started to promote herself less and less, her sales decreased. If she continues, she will just turn into a singles artist, she needs to push herself. Not artist can release an album and have it sell well with no promotion. And to be honest, the fact that she did X Factor, and then Vegas shows that she is heading towards the path of older acts which she is not.
