i'm saying it's not a true successor in the GBA to DS sense. It's a successor in the GBA to GBA SP or DS to DS Lite to DSi sense.

the problem isn't that
the problem is people are too cheap to buy the 3DS so they want every pokemon game from now on to be on the original DS

The DS had a bigger screen, better resolution and touch screen, does that means that it was just an upgrade of the Game Boy ?
What about the PS3, who had just better graphics than the PS2, that must be an upgrade too, right ?

A) No. It had extreme gameplay differences for most games. You had two screens an a touch screen.

B) The PS3 also had a much, much more advanced hardware and software system constituting more than just the 3DS transition to 3D capability.
