I don't know much about record deals but if this is true than it really doesn't pay that much to work with all those extra producers does it? On another note, I always thought that the label would be the ones to pay for the promo and not Taylor though.
Any money the label gives you is a loan and gets recouped from the percentage you are supposed to be paid. So what happens is depending on the contract the label will get 65% of the money from the album sales while you get 10% but you will not see a penny of that money until you pay them back the money they advanced you to make the record and for promotion. They do not take that out of their 65% but your 10% which is why artists don't make money off records unless they are credited with writing or producing credits and they have to sell a lot of it . That is why you can have a platinum record and still owe your record company millions even though they actually made money off the record. The only way an artist makes money is through endorsements and touring and even with touring you have to be careful not to go broke by spending more money than you are bringing in a la Rihanna.
Red may be Taylor's most enjoyable album to listen to from start finish. Nothing to skip, no truly jarring song transitions (other than 22 after All Too Well).

A better album than Speak Now.
I've been waiting for this. Welcome to the right side.
