What was good about the previous charts was that they reflected DIFFERENT aspects of popularity of songs of different genres that may not be the most dominant on the Hot 100. With these new changes, R&B Songs is now just the 40 or so highest would-be charting "R&B" songs on the Hot 100 scale. Not reflective of anything significant.

I still think the old system was much better. Even though certain songs were ignored by country radio, most of the amazing tracks were getting what they deserved: #1 on country chart.

now only artists with who sell-out to pop or employ other tactics would get high on that chart, when the true country crowd doesn't care about them

e.g. Jason Aldean getting Lil Wayne on his tracks, Blake Shelton getting massive exposure due to The Voice, Taylor Swift being so popular and doing pop music

it's just not right or fair to other country stars.

Oh well.. I shouldn't really care about this. It's just a genre chart... but it was always nice to see genre specific songs on it, not pop songs on top of every chart when they don't belong there.

According to Jeff on twitter(he is reliable) 22, Lucky One, Holy Ground, and I Knew You Were Trouble are the poppy, drum driven songs. Then of course, Never Ever, and well.

It's a third-party organization that is free to make their own decisions. Their reasoning was clearly explained: genre hits shouldn't be determined purely by the radio stations labeled under that genre, but should be more open to the sway of general interest. And to be honest, I agree, because we've endured weeks of Maroon 5 blocking Gangnam Style, despite the fact that Gangnam Style has clearly been the biggest song in the United States.

Ye, but they didn't lower the influence of radio on overall Hot 100 chart and Maroon 5 will keep blocking PSY due to their radio advantage.

What they did was messing up the genre charts.

BTW I am yet to see non-Taylor stan to defend the policy change. Just an observation
