She doesn't know baby one more time or oops?
Britney's songs are way more iconic.
And I bet your mom can't name a janet song either.

the one who didnt have to sit on a t.v show to remain relevent at age 30...the one who can actually entertain.....and could at age 30, the one who was actually still in their prime at 30, though they were already greatly established as a super mega star....that one

Subjective. And in my opinion, Janet has more iconic moments than Britney (not only songs). I'm just too lazy to name them now.

No, you just can't think of any. She has NO iconic moments or songs (besides her tit 'accidentally' being exposed at the Super Bowl).

There is no Britney Spears without Janet Jackson. Britney practically owes her entire stage performances to that woman. You can't compare. Janet is not her contemporary. Xtina is.

Janet Jackson at age 30
Delivered a masterpiece
Quote:

Referred to as a masterpiece, The Velvet Rope has been the subject of critical acclaim for its lyrical depth, emotional vulnerability, and mature sound. It is listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
|
Topping charts and selling millions
Quote:
The Velvet Rope debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming Jackson's fourth consecutive album to top the chart. It also peaked within the top five positions of the majority of the charts it entered, including the UK, Australia, and Canada. Although considered to be a commercial disappointment in comparison to the Janet record, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified The Velvet Rope triple platinum, with worldwide sales exceeding ten million copies. Releasing six singles released from the album, "Together Again" became Jackson's most successful, selling an estimated six million copies and becoming one of the best-selling singles worldwide.
|
Nominated for Grammys
Quote:
She received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for "I Get Lonely" and won the Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video for "Got 'til It's Gone".
|
Was still in high demand
Quote:
Her contract with Virgin allotted her the option to leave the label. The Walt Disney Company attempted to sign her jointly with PolyGram, while Virgin sought to renegotiate her contract in order to retain her. Virgin was able to succeed in their negotiations, with Jackson receiving a historic $80 million dollar contract, making her the world's highest paid musical act for the second time in her career.
|
And went on her best tour yet
Quote:
To promote the tour, a live special, The Velvet Rope: Live in Madison Square Garden was aired on HBO, which drew over 15 million viewers. The special won an Emmy Award from four nominations.

So according to you Spears' 2007 MTV Video Music Awards performance must be considered as iconic. Correct me if I'm wrong. Apart from that iconic moment (following your theory of iconic moments/disaster performances), what else she did iconically?

Even with all her accomplishments, no one really cares about Janet any more other then stans. They haven't really cared for her in over a decade. Janet is basically the filler of the music industry.
