This is not high school or sympathy center. We don't know Prince personally, we don't know Bruce Springsteen's struggles, we don't Barbara Streisand's favorite meal and we certainly don't know Ella Fitzgerald's personal life. They have something more to show that commands respect not just attention.

I strongly suspect this poll was created for the purposes of shade, however... it is well known that Beyonce is far more respected in the black community. If you read any urban entertainment blog, Beyonce is still revered while Rihanna is usually treated with contempt. Many blame her for hurting Chris Brown's image and feel that she brought the abuse on herself. I've regularly seen her called a "nasty caribbean voodoo ho" and similar slurs.

But the poll is directly speaking about the black population in America specifically. We all agree that she's not as respected as Bey in the black community. its not really a big deal. Whitney at one point in her career was often criticized and now they adore her. Black people in general are fickle.

I agree that Bey is more respected, Im just saying that using "she isn't african american" isn't a logical reason, because at the end of the day she's still of african descent. Rihanna is less respected because her music is more so catered to whites, not because of where she's from.
