Beyonce gets more play on Black radio stations. Mr. and Mrs. President adore her. BET might as well dedicate a shrine to her with all the nominations she gets every year at the Awards show. To be honest, a lot of people might not like her, but they respect her talent, business sense, and recognize that she's a great singer. And Black gay men love the **** out of her.
I really don't care if Bey doesn't show us her "true" personality. She's an entertainer. Her only job is to make good music, throw a bomb ass performance, and then bounce. As long as she keeps doing that, I'm satisfied. When I buy people's records, I don't buy them because they Tweet all the time. She doesn't owe people anything. I also like that she doesn't share all her business with people and keeps it low key on her private life.
And on mine, someone just called Beyonce a wh*re for putting out a raunchy song like Dance For You when she now has a daughter. We all know that Beyonce WANTS to be the ROLE MODEL because she thinks that is what will be her legacy, whereas Rihanna wants to be HERSELF and enjoy making music in the process. Another thing, Rihanna is from Barbados, a culture she said is more sexual than American culture.
Calling Barbados a sexual culture is basically her over-sexualizing her own people and falls into stereotypes about Black people being hypersexual. P-poppin at Barbados festivals doesn't mean that an entire group island of people are more sexual.
Beyonce for sure. Rihanna is liked by the black community but probably in the same proportion she is liked by every other race. Beyonce is like a modern deity for the black community.
& Rihanna is too real and takes too many risks. Black community prefers the status quo.
Right. The Black community clearly prefers status quo. Which is why we love Tupac, Biggie, Bob Marley, Janet Jackson, Prince, and Jimi Hendrix. Because they were so safe and status quo.
