Receipts? Macy's doesn't equal the entire US. I can't even find it on Wal Marts website. I know she may not sell it there deliberately but if it isn't sold there I don't see how it could be number 1 since they do sell Elizabeth Taylor White diamonds.

They're both marketed differently. Gaga's perfume is being sold as an upscale celebrity fragrance and Britney's are sold as mass market fragrances. Just look at the places they're being sold. Nothing wrong with it, it's just a fact.

FAME is not for sale at Wal-Mart! It's being sold exclusively at department stores and specialty stores. White Diamonds is the best selling celebrity fragrance of all time, that does not mean that it's #1 every day of the year. It just means that people are consistently buying it through the years. If that were the case, Britney's fragrance would have never been #1 when it came out.

As of right now, Gaga's fragrance is the best selling, mostly because it's new though there will come a time when those sales will slow down like all fragrances.

It's Gaga's and Coty's choice as to where they want to sell it and how they want to market it. Just how you won't find Chanel perfumes at Wal-Mart, you won't find FAME there either. When you build a respectable brand, you tend to also build a loyal following and that feeling of exclusivity becomes a buying point for people. People like the idea of buying upscale affordable products.

FAME is another celebrity fragrance but their approach to selling it is a bit different than most celebrity fragrances that are intended to just make a quick buck.

Anyway, this article is pointless, Fame is doing really well but Gaga might not even release any more perfumes, if she does the novelty wears off so there now way of telling if she is surpassing anyone or not, specially if the other girls keep releasing more perfumes

The UK has a different store climate though. John Lewis and Harvey Nicols would really be the only nation-wide equivalent to Macy's/Bloomingdales/Saks Fifth Avenue/Sephora/J.C Penney's etc. but they don't have any celebrity perfumes on sale. Boots (drugstore), The Perfume Shop (mainly online shop with stalls in malls) and Superdrug (drugstore) are really the only places you'd be able to buy celebrity perfume across the country. Coty will have had no choice.
