That is correct but the rules have been changed because of how embarassing the situation was at the oscars last year with them only having 2 songs. Now they have to have atleast 5 songs make the list and now songs as long as they relate to the theme of the movie can be nominated

Since day one, many from the country world said she s not country, that it s just stupid to let a 16yo girl singing immature songs, that s why she didn t get any signature with major country labels and ended up with a little indie group right ?!!! the she can t sing thing comes from country fans as well, I still remember it like it was yesterday even if i was 12 ! I still remember her first call with Tim McGraw when her first single was in the top 10, she was so excited but he just acted like a "legend" would do with snobbism and all, hell the girl wrote a song about you and you never tried to know her until it reached the top 10... but when he realized she s getting bigger, he started to be "very" nice & supportive, and now where he is at, in Taylor's label.

The thing is that now pop stations never said she s too country, she ain t pop as I said before Taylor was always closer to pop friends.
