I think Beyonce's lifestyle is much more desired. You just picture her swimming in money. On yachts and on jets, living a life of luxury. Everybody wants that.
There's been several "top stars right now" to be put in the same pedestal as Britney, Lady Gaga has to prove longevity and when you build a career on weird outfits you will have a hard time doing it so.
That's true, but Gaga's first 2 albums did have massive massive impact like BOMT or Oops, obviously to a lesser degree. She's successful in almost all, if not all, areas that most superstars excel in and that's a rare feat. She's not coming close to Britney's super stardom esp. during the early days but at the very least she does surpass Beyonce's. Even if her stans overrate her talents, impact, sales, etc. who else really comes close to this trinity mess? She's obviously qualified.

I remain unconvinced, most people probably don't even know she has a personality outside of her over the top fashion choices.
Um, I can't count the number of times I've heard people in the general public admit that Gaga's actually talented but weird.
It's not like the general public is so familiar with Britney's personality, either. Nobody refers to her as "that sweet down-home southern girl," they refer to her as "that trainwreck embodiment of everything that's wrong with celebrity culture and oh I remember BOMT that was fun, too." #noshadejusttruth

Jk, I get what you're saying, but what I'm getting that is that if Britney had the demand, she herself wouldn't have trouble reaching those marks these days. I mean she is a household name.

I know what you mean, but rock bands are bigger touring acts than any pop star. TImes have changes since the early 2000s. It was the rock bands who changed the way artists tour. And in case you don't know, Madonna tours like a rock band.
Britney isn't the performer she was pre-2004. Simple as that.
I don't think it's even about that. You don't get to that type of gross unless you really invest in doing a ton of dates and almost no pop artists does that. Madonna is probably the only artist who has tours that sell like they do simply because she is Madonna. Tour prices are also more expensive now than they were then. Touring in general is a predominant rock thing though. The only pop artist who is in the top 10 for best grossing tours is Madonna.

This has to be the most tired and lame excuse in the book. A lot of dates or not, there was obviously demand, and even beyond that, she outgrossed Britney's debut tour in every way imaginable: total gross, gross per date, gross by country, ticket sales, venue size, reviews, merchandise sales; so you can stop with that bull****. Britney wasn't capable of it, and she never will be again, because at the end of the day her conservators could barely drag her ass through an 80-date tour and keep her conscious long enough for them to film her standing still in a giant white dress. Meanwhile, Gaga's second tour will push her past Britney's entire touring career gross, and with less dates I might add.

You only say "beyonce is just there" because she's been at the top ever since Destiny's Child whereas Britney has been knocked off her pedestal after 2003.
And yet Beyonce's album sales and tour force combined with DC's don't match Britney's.

Well, I guess this is all just anecdotal and a matter of selection bias, but I know a lot of people who are inherently antipathetic to pop stars/pop music who will (maybe begrudgingly) admit that Gaga is undeniably talented.

I don't think so. Rihanna's young, beautiful, smoking weed at music festivals, ****ing who she wants whilst making money from various fields (film, music, fashion). Plus as noted already, she has an approachable and entertaining personality and brightness about her.
Beyonce's the Stepford Wife and back in her younger days, I suppose girls wanted to be like her.. but I'd argue not to the point how Rihanna is today. That's how she so easily came and took over her lane.
To be quite honest Beyoncé is a black, American Kylie Minogue. Always second rate, beloved by the local public (who believe the rest of the world loves her too), always wearing tacky outfits, singing the same song era after era, doesn't write songs, always smiling. A black Kylie she is.
