GaGa has busted boundaries and brought a damn whirlwind through the industry, and established herself as a touring act rivaling and beating rock bands who have been around for decades. Regardless of how Britney performs now, the fact that people still pay a thousand dollars to meet herfor thirty seconds says a lot. She has a level of impact ffar beyond an average pop star.
I don't think of the trinity as a fixed thing, there just happens to be three pop stars with that level of star quality at the moment.

If you want to argue tested longevity against her, I'm not sure who else from Britney/Bey's era you would consider viable since the rest of those girls are all irrelevant flops at the present time.

She makes pop music, she is not a POP STAR. Come on. The public has a fairly narrow definition of this in their mind. If you referred to Adele as a pop artist to most of the general public they'd probably come running to her defense about how much more "meaningful" she is than all that and how dare you slander her.
