Yes. Why? Because the general public doesn't even know what album she's on and her single sales are in the pits compared to some of her competitors.
I can't tell you how many of my cousins have come over my house, saw my TTT CD, and ask "What is this?"

I mean It wouldn't better if she has more eras and albums like "Loud" (success-wise) ?
|
True True, but far as material, I mean LOUD appealed mostly to a broader audience, TTT, uhmm I don't think so. She doesn't need to drag out an ERA like TTT, it's really DIRTY...not suitable for kids...LOUD I wish would've been longer..yes, it was great.
GGGB was her BEST ERA to date! I think it sold 2.4 million?

She should have released TTT right before Battlefield for double the promo tbh. Then she could have planned a tour for the summer and everything.

Everyone wants a #1 album from Rih, but that honestly doesn't matter..

Yes but that only happened to them with 1 album, "MDNA" ,"Femme Fatale" and "4" .... but the reality is that aside those albums, the most of the time of their careers with #1 albums they've been more successful than Rihanna.
So I think is a bit unfair to reduce their careers only to "MDNA", "Femme Fatale" and "4".

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
As long as each album sells 1 million before the ERA is up, keep on pushing out albums. That's how I feel. No use to waiting, Now if the album flops HARD, then YES! Stop and re-think things. But every since AGLM they've all gone to sell at least 1 million, so why stop now?

All she has to do is not release on Black Friday week and she'd almost definitely get a #1.
I have no clue why she thinks the formula she's using is the best one. It's really not. It's not even about the #1, but the way she goes about promoting her stuff isn't the way she should handle it at all.

Aren't we just comparing the MOST recent albums? I mean isn't everyone basing this thread off the performance of TTT, since it's the freshest of Rihanna's albums. NO need to compare to the past...Right?
So yes, TTT, MDNA, FF, and 4 are up for comparsion...

LOUD was released a year after Rated R and it is her second best selling era though. 2 of her "underperforming" (Rated R and Talk That Talk) eras have been generally darker and somewhat more urban than her better eras (LOUD and GGGB). Pop, happy Rihanna appears to more audiences.

It might be what her label thinks.
Personally, I actually do think she likes to make music & record, but I definitely think her label pushes her to release once a year. The part she seems to mind the most is promoting; wasn't she exhausted 3-4 times during the era?

Ehh No
The thread is in general, about the overall stretegy Rihanna's been doing during her whole career ... from the start to this date.
and BTW I'm not talking about a remote past.... I think "Circus" and "Hard Candy" are recent albums right?

I think she should release when she thinks she has great material. Instead of having a deadline and relying on others to get her songs, she should write a lot and see where it goes, then releases whenever she thinks it's ready. Instead of her albums being more of a business thing I'd rather it be more about the music.

He has to marry her so he can rub it in Amber's face.
Even if it last a month.

I don't think it really matters because if she releases in the summer, she would probably see much less first week sales
