but I mean, Rihanna can sell albums very well especially outside of the US, look at the UK, but she doesn't generally OWN it in the US market...
|
I mean you wanted to shade Madonna and Britney right?.
well I wasn't talking about the US alone, I mean Rihanna has released 6 albums and 4 of them has sold less than "Circus" and "Hard Candy" WORLWIDE.
and all recent albums had to combat with leaks and piracy
I just think Rihanna would have even better sales if she takes some time between albums. just saying

She should just collaborate with M.I.A and Azaelia and pay Nicki and Jay dust. I'm here for groundbreaking, legendary **** not ****ing Raining Men. Talk That Talk was cute, but the Jay/Ri thing is stale or may Jay is just stale... IDK

If I recall correctly, I wasn't trying to shade anyone. I have all of their albums in my iTunes.
I was only comparing the albums, no matter what the position was far as charting at #1 or even #6, the sold around the same, if not the latter sold more...

Yes. Why? Because the general public doesn't even know what album she's on and her single sales are in the pits compared to some of her competitors.
I can't tell you how many of my cousins have come over my house, saw my TTT CD, and ask "What is this?"

I thought she said she was spending the year finding NEW producers to work with.

on a broader level, Pop girls struggle really when it comes to album sales now
Adele is another story...

I really don't understand what is your point on bringing Madonna, Beyonce, and Britney to this thread.
Madonna has a 25 years career.
and Britney and Beyonce 15 years of career, I think is normal and Ok if they underperform sometimes.

I mean I hear her working with new tea this time around, but I've honestly been paying it dust for the most part. I'm rebelling against this hoe. She needs to sit the **** down. I swear every time I hear about a new Rihanna album, my response is "Bitch... Again!?" and I'm a BIG fan of hers.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
As long as each album sells 1 million before the ERA is up, keep on pushing out albums. That's how I feel. No use to waiting, Now if the album flops HARD, then YES! Stop and re-think things. But every since AGLM they've all gone to sell at least 1 million, so why stop now?

I think she should release her 7th album mid 2013 (June-July) so she has a year to work on it rather than rushing it like TTT. Tbh... I can't get enough of Rihanna so an album a year I'm happy with!

Femme Fatale is a good Britney album. So I agree
But 4? 4 is such an amazing album. I never was a fan of Beyonce but 4, I have to say is her best album. It's one of the best albums released last year.

I think that she shouldn't release the album in that damn week or per year tbh but watch them doing so.

I was comparing the chart runs....Ya'll are so concerned about an album reaching #1, yet some #1 albums don't even sell as much as an album that charted at #30...so that's all i'm saying. I'm not comparing them as to which flopped the hardest...
Everyone wants a #1 album from Rih, but that honestly doesn't matter..

I'm going to have to go listen to it again then, everyone seems to praise it! I love some songs, but let me go give it a fair chance again!

That sounds a bit mediocre, and basic, just get the 1M mark , the platinum certification and thats it while your album doesn't flop hard.
I mean It wouldn't better if she has more eras and albums like "Loud" (success-wise) ?
