Gotye Shades Glee
Quote:
Australian singer Gotye says he is getting used to fame after his song, "Somebody That I Used to Know," rocketed to the top of the US charts.
But Gotye -- real name Wally de Backer, from Melbourne -- has revealed some of the fame fallout has frustrated him.
While the version from TV hit "Glee" gave the song a huge boost, Gotye has mixed feelings about the rendition.
"They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals, but the vocals were that pop 'Glee' style. It made it sound
dinky and wrong."

He needs to sit and be thankful that he is relevant at all in the US. They did him a favor

Oh please. His song would still be hugely successful without Glee. But I'm glad he just said what everyone's been thinking for the past three years.

He didn't lie. And this was one of their better covers.

It gave the song a bump, but the song was already one of the biggest hits at the time of the episode.

It's true though, the vocals are supposed to sound dulled and hurt, as though you're afraid to speak.
