That's a good number. She'll be fine. I agree with the Mariah comparisions.

She isn't getting a double certification. RHCP are only platinum, and they had a double disc.
It seems her album isn't long enough to get one. But she is set to sell 340,000 SEPERATE copies.

well you know that but u know how are obsesive xtina fans who still believes that stripped has sold more than 12 million worldwide[which is wrong...even when xtina her self told to a magazine that her album sold 8.3 million at that time], and how they still believing that stripped has sold more than 4.5 million albums in usa...now we know thanks to hits that stripped sold 3.9 million albums...so her fans are gonna be like hysterical about her gettin 4x platinum
|
ROFL at you thinking you know me. I never said she sold 12 million, that's a total unrealistic number, and of course she didn't sell 4.5 million, she sold 3.93 in the us and was certified 4x platinum.
And this album will sell even if it pisses you off. I'm sorry.
and lol at the re-release thing.- She'll team up with some rappers and bring out a 50's latin-inspired song to make it haha.

According to SOUNDSCAN records this morning, the album has shifted 822,430 copies worldwide already, which is pretty amazing! The album has sold 188,000 copies in the USA since it's Tuesday morning release and according to reports, the album is predicted to sell anywhere between 380,000 and 600,000 in it's first week (in the US) based on it's first day sales of 73,000 copies!

OMG, some people just CAN'T read. ROFLMAO.
And I don't understand this "more than 100 minutes" thing. As far as I can remember, Shania's "Up!" doesn't have more than 100 minutes - I'm not sure of that though.

320k+ is bad? Uh...since when? She completely changed her sound from what everyone knew and loved her for, and could still end up with her highest debut yet. Some of you are just looking for a reason to hate on her. And as mentioned before, she's showed time and time again that she has tremendous staying power, so it's hard to tell how much she's going to sell at this point. Sooooo in short, stfu? Yeah.

BASICS GROWS FOR AGUILERA
New Album Now Looks Set to Top 350k, With Five Other Top 10 Debuts in Jennings, Adkins, Cheetah Girls, Cherish and Obie Trice
August 18, 2006
She’s Back to Basics and how.
RCA diva Christina Aguilera’s new album will easily top the HITS album chart next week, with a first-week total that could soar past 360k.
She is one of six newcomers to the Top 10, with Columbia rapper Lyfe Jennings (125-135k), Capitol Nashville’s Trace Adkins (115-125k) and Disney’s Cheetah Girls 2 soundtrack (85-90k) making it four for four chart debuts.
Lone Top 5 holdover Sony Music Group’s Now 22 remains steady at #5, followed by two more chart crashers in Capitol’s sister R&B foursome Cherish (75-80k) and Eminem posse member Obie Trice’s new Shady/Aftermath effort (75-80k).
Last week’s #1, Def Jam/IDJ hip-hop hustler Rick Ross drops to #8, with 70-75k, while Jive/ZLG’s Step Up soundtrack (60-65k) and Roadrunner/IDJ’s perennial Nickelback round out the 10 best.
Downtown/Atlantic’s Gnarls Barkley and Bad Boy/Atlantic’s Cassie are up next with between 45-50k apiece, trailed by Capitol’s LeToya (40-45k).
Tuesday, look for LaFace/ZLG’s massive new OutKast album, the soundtrack to their upcoming motion picture Idlewild, to hit retail with force.
