I mean, let's say you find somoene on a dating site, then after everything you go through with that person, ex. you fall in love, you start dating/talking, and have mutual feelings toward each other, then they keep going back to them dating sites?

I'm not here to pin-point just the [gay] community, but I'm always paranoid guys are really promiscuous and they like to fool with your head and still 'lurk' around for other possibility encounters.

My question is. Why do you need to go back to the site when you found someone? Do you ever feel the need to stalk someone?

I disagree. I'm a virgin and not looking for sex. But I'm on the site. Which means there is a possibility of another or two guys just like me looking for the same.

It depends on the dating site. We all know Manhunt and Grindr are tended towards that.

Some others are just designed to meet people. It's really confusing.

Maybe you should try meeting guys through mutual interest sites instead? Make friends and hope something grows out of it. Dating sites are generally geared towards sex ultimately.

I've been alone pretty much since I graduated High School. All my friends moved on in life. Now all I do is sit in my room and work. I don't like talking to the walls. It's depressing and I hate my life so much. 8 years of on-going depression isn't healthy.

There are many relationship themed websites such as match.com or compatiblepartners.org. You're not going to have someone waste actual cash each month for some casual ****s.

I don't agree with the other posters by saying not to put your feelings on the line because it's a dating website. That is unless you're on Grindr, Manhunt, or some other skeezy website looking for love.

Dating websites are completely OK to go on. Just be safe before you meet the person (phone call first, meeting in a public space, letting the person know your friends know who you're with them, etc..).

I met my current boyfriend off a dating website, and when comparing him to guys I've dated the 'regular' way, he is so much better in every way.

LOL I didn't recommend that. I myself have never actually used dating sites as I meet enough guys in my daily life and Im not sexmad and constantly craving new partners. But I certainly know many around me who've used all the various hook up sites. I wouldn't say it makes them happy ultimately. But some of them just see it as a fun way to pass time. New guy, new thrill.

If you have depression issues then that's something you need treatment for. A partner isnt gonna solve that so you need to deal with that before you seek a partner. In the words of Rupaul; if you can't love yourself then how the hell you gonna love somebody else? It's one of the great truths and it sounds like you need to sort your issues out with yourself before seeking a soulmate. Otherwise your issues will just destroy the relationship and leave you even worse off.
