His albums are flops, but his singles aren't. All three of his first singles were Top 10 hits and "Don't Wanna Go Home" rose quickly on Top 40 radio (but unfortunately peaked quickly too).

True, but that's practically everybody. Pitbull, Flo Rida, list goes on. They are popular because of their singles, this is how people listening/buying those songs identify. It's a shame for the albums industry, but it's where we are.

He's not a flop in today's climate. His singles missed the top ten this go around, radio has slowed down supporting, but they've sold amazing given that and lack of promotion. Not trying to defend him really, kind of a mess, though "Breathing" is a bop.

That goes for those artists, too.

I really don't think it's because of today's climate. Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars have done just fine. Those artists are album flops for other reasons, too.

Lol. How is derulo and Ke$ha on the same level? Last time I checked. Ke$ha has a fanbase, over 10 million in singles sold, over 2 million in albums sold, all singles top 10. Plus her music is still played more than songs released than this year. You better sit your delusional ass down

Musically, both Ke$ha and DeRulo are trash. However, Ke$ha stood out because she was the only one at the moment with the IDGAF/party girl attitude. People bought into that, which is why she has one of the biggest singles of the decade so far and a #1 platinum album. She's generic, but she has done something right to achieve more attention than DeRulo, who has yet to get a gold album.
