Quite frankly I think it has to do with the fact that he doesn't do any features/have any featured artists on his songs. I think people underestimate the power of features or being featured. His promo is also ****.
HIs music is no less bland than Bruno Mars, but Bruno is out working with Snoop Dogg and B.o.B, as well as performing at every award show.
bruno is talented and along with his production team he produced and made the songs he was featured on and after nothin on you different artists were asking for him in their songs he never call anyone to put him in a song
He's extremely talented. But maybe he's just not meant for that life. Having the skill of an artist and having the vision of an artist are two different things. He's got the skill, but what does he want to do with his art? If it's the usual 'I just want to entertain," then BAM, he's already doing that. He doesn't need to be as big as MJ to do that. Madonna wanted to "rule the world" with her music, and look what happened. The same could be said for Ciara, Ashanti, and many other amazing talents.
He's currently my least favorite artist out there. His music makes me want to drive off a bridge whenever it comes on. Whenever he says his name in that whiny ass voice of his I lose faith in humanity. He is awful and I'm glad he flops.
I liked Ridin' Solo the first time I heard it at least. Then I hated it. The rest of his songs were **** the first time I heard them. Whatcha Say doesn't even make sense and I can't believe girls like that song. "Oh I cheated on you, but don't leave me I won't do it again!" Bitch please.
My friends all love him and think he's hot and I think he looks ugly as ****. He's like a knock-off Usher but at least Usher has some good songs to his name.
He's generally been-there-done-that. He's very generic and pop doesn't use generic male artists for more than a few songs or so. Just look at Taio Cruz and Jay Sean. It takes a lot for an exclusively male-pop artist to smash, especially when their music is generic.
He's just uninteresting. Apart from a few good songs, what else does he offer? Majority of male pop artists play it so safe, yet people wonder why they never succeed.
He doesn't stand out...AT ALL. You could put him, Taio Cruz, Jay Sean, and a few other guys into a ****ing room and no one would figure out who is who because they all sound the same.
