I've been exposed to so much things that I might not have been otherwise if it hadn't been to technology, and I thank technology for that.
Instead of going everywhere by foot, cars are available; computers reduced the amount of filing cabinets that used to litter offices and it's much easier to pull up files that way, verify things, etc.; instead of carrying stacks of CDs all over the place, you can carry around a small rectangle full of songs, make calls with it, check the weather, surf the Internet, take pictures, etc.; lights are there so we can actually see things at night, unlike way back when where you could fall in a ditch at night and die in it and all that jazz.
The only thing I don't really like about technology is how people hide behind it and the way some people allow it to make them become lazy. Some don't know when enough is enough. As for hiding behind it, it kind of aids antisocial behavior among some and acts as a shield. There are also the sad cases where technology replaces humans in the work place.
