Technology has revolutionized our ability to communicate with one another and have ready access to data from all across the world. The instrument itself is inherently beneficial, but of course anything can produce undesirable results when you throw human nature into the mix.
Regardless, calling technology bad is just incredibly myopic and naive. You're basically arguing against progress that's been going on from the beginning of time. It's a good thing, but all good things can be abused.
