Please, don't find my thread offensive. I know Whitney has died but...

This question has been posed several times, but I really want to know, was Whitney really "The Voice" of our time? I've always thought, and dont shoot me down with this, that Mariah Carey had her beat. I think her voice was at times in both of their primes, much better than whitneys. Many whitney fans and argue, but I actually have some stuff to back up my choice.

Honestly it seems like people had kinda forgotten about Whitney till she died and now all the sudden she is relevant again. Kinda the same with Micheal Jackson. for example I now sell like 20 cds of hers a day 2 months ago I never sold any.

There were probably better voices out there, but Whitney was the one big voice to hit it huge worldwide like no other first, so she gets the credit.

I actually agee. I always thought Christina had a stronger voice than Mariah. Mariah has amazing range but her voice always sounds a little weak to me.

Yes. Whitney is easily one of the greatest singers of all time, and is a much better vocalist than Mariah in my opinion.

True. I think Whitney has an amazing voice, and was an amazing singer. But no other singer has a voice like Mariah for me. So Whitney is "The Voice." But if she's "The Voice", then Mariah is "The Other Voice" because there won't be two voices like that again.

Whitney Houston was the first celebrity I remember me liking when I was little.But honestly I prefer Patti Labelle or Rachelle Ferrell over Whitney's.She however was the voice of the mainstream artist's in her day.
