Rihanna is not considered a BET artist. she hasn't been sucessful there at ALL. Pon De replay came and went quickly on the countdown there IILTYW flopped and S.O.S. never got premiered (right) and Unfaithful prolly wont make it and if it does, don't expect it to do so well.

Ok, well if it makes the countdown (Unfaithful), then ppl would probably vote for it, cause it seems they always vote for videos that make the countdown...

Rihanna is a prominant BET figure now. She's made plenty of apperences on the station. Hell, she was just on 106 & Park just like a week ago premiering Unfaithful. Her music is no more poppier(sp?) than Beyonce's, and her videos were/are in heavy rotation on the channel! The fact that Rihanna's videos "allegedly" aren't played on BET, and Latoya isn't played on TRL is because their record labels aren't willing to pay for positions.... POINT BLANK!

106 & Park is recorded DAYS before it even airs! I know this because my brother went on a tuesday taping and it didn't air to like Thursday (I don't remember if those were the exact days, but I do know that the show that was taped when he was there didn't air till DAYS later)! So how the hell can votes be calculated to a prerecorded show? 106 is NOT live! Therefore, I think viewers votes plays little, to no part in where videos are placed on that particular countdown!

People need to realize that those shows are NOW (and I emphasize the word "now" because it was not always this way) used as pure publicity tools for recording artist and record labels. Shows like TRL and 106 & Park do not directly coincide with the votes of fans but by the money that record labels are willing to shell out for a particular artists video to appear on the show

So that's why 50 cent videos don't debut until 2 days after...

for 106, some shows are taped others are live. they sharing their studio with another show so when its set up for 106 (2 to 3 days) then the show its live at 6pm while they tapin the folowing one at 2pm.

and yeah rihanna is too pop for BET. Nsync girlfriend they had nelly on it and the song is not that pop it could have been sung by a black group which is not the case with rihanna.

and if they pay for their position i dont see why jay z would pay trl to play rihanna and not bet. its the same company (viacom) same for letoya if they would pay for 106 y not for trl. on bet its a fact letoya has many many fan.

now i dunno why she didnt make it at trl yet. maybe because her spins on pop didnt increase yet. but she damn #2 on urban (very soon to be #1) and #4 on billboard hh rnb
