Paul W.S. Anderson has finally learned his lesson. Fans want it to be like the game. After the forth one, which was pretty good step-up from the first three films, though lacking a decent plot, but had elements from the video game, fans out cried, it wasn't like the game. So Paul asked fans what do YOU want from the game. About a year later, rumors are spilling out of what's shaping up to the be the most anticipated Resident Evil film of all time.

Just a few days ago, Excella wasn't on that list. Ada Wong was. She was from the 4th video game (along with Leon Kennedy), which made the plot even make more sense.

Buttt I must say, Excella in the movie? Along with Wesker? Remember if you payed attention, he DID NOT die. I am assuming he's not part of the cast (yet) because they expect people to "THINK" he is dead when in reality he didn't die. So they don't want to spoil it?

Excella, Wesker and Jill Valentine as the bad guys?

Leon, Chris, and Claire as the good guys?

Plus frickin' ALICE?!



NOW THAT WE GOT THE FULL CAST HERE, PLEASE DON'T **** THE PLOT UP PAUL. IT BETTER BE EPIC.

With a cast like this, this film could have potential to be the best Resident Evil, if not, best film of the year. Now don't screw it up.

Movie of the year?

Trying to make it exactly like the game can potentially turn out to be a nightmare. It'll be hit and miss all over the place.

The first is where it should've ended. It's the best in the series. Since then, the same stale bread has been handed out 3 times. That Retribution title... Really? It sounds so tired. That subtitle was attached to a Halloween film for years until the remake came out. Come up with something else.

This movie needs to be tackled from a whole new angle. Bring in some fresh eyes. Do something because these movies fall further and further down the hill with each one that's released.

Jensen Ackles was rumored to play Leon. But they changed it (along with Ada Wong removed) just recently.

I'm the biggest fan of Resident Evil, love the games and I love the movies. I am not picky at all, I could care less if it's exactly like the video game. Otherwise you are just "replaying" the video game without the controls What's the point if it's exactly like the game? I prefer Paul's idea of Resident Evil with elements from the video game, but fans are so idiotic that they scream out, "IT'S NOT LIKE THE VIDEO GAMEEE."

Go play the game if you want it to be EXACTLY like the video game

Res 4 was such a bad movie though...

The term "hater" is used too loosely around these parts. Anyway, I've seen all these movies and was not impressed. I liked the original, tho, because it offered a new take on zombies. That whole movie was actually a whole new take on the zombie subgenre. I'm sure George A. Romero, the creator of that genre, would agree.

Now, I don't particularly care for video games, so I don't care if these films are like the games or not. However, I do care about the STORY. These movies, aside from the original, haven't given me anything in that department. If Anderson would put all of the sfx and look on the back burner and focus more on moving the story foward, he could have something great on his hands.

But all I saw when I watched these movies is well choreographed fight scenes, big stunts, great looking sets, and some goodlooking people. All I'm saying is, step the story up. I want the story, not the eye candy. Lots can be done here because it's a geat idea. Fresh eyes can help out a lot.

Plot wise, yes it was weak. But visually it was the best of the series. Resident Evil Afterlife is my favorite Resident Evil film. It's basically all action and elements from the video game. But they could've worked on a better plot with their soap opera scenes.

Scene 1: Wesker's / Umbrella's Facility being taken down.

Scene 2: Arcadia's truth - Getting out of the Prison

Scene 3: Wesker showdown on the ship; finding out the truth behind Umbrella.

I think the plot was too rushed, but whatever, I've seen Resident Evil 4 like 17 times and still going...it's my favorite movie of all time (or most watched anyways, it never gets old).

I am big fan of the games, esp Resident evil 2 and 3( Jill ). I liked the RE movies but lately I find them a little bit mediocre.
So far the first movie is the best from the series IMO.
