You may have noticed the new icon that appears above the thread page count. This is our new Fanity. ATRL has partnered with Fanity to enhance your experience online. Fanity brings together much an artists or bands information all into one place. This doesn't mean ATRL is going anywhere, we are simply trying to provide a fuller experience for the user. Since we dont have the infrastructure to support this kinda of data retrieval we have teamed with Fanity to provide you with all this information. This is a great opportunity and I look foward to everyone's feedback. Let me know what you think about this icon, good, bad, let me know and we can have a discussion about here.
Why did you add this?
Well first and foremost, I did to enhance everyone ability to find information about bands and artists. Second this provides a great way for us to increase our revenue from this partnership. More money means better equipment and a better site.
How it works:
We are trying to improve, as it still needs time to be perfected. It basically scans the page and looks for the most relevant term it can find. It then checks Fanity's database for that term and if its in it returns a link to it otherwise it doesn't display it.
I like it. It doesn't harm a thread so I don't see the cons of it. I actually clicked on the link and it seems like a nice site. I won't be a frequent of it, but I'll visit from time-to-time for sure.
I didn't like the way it looked at first, but I've gotten used to it so no problems here. Also it's a new way to shade an artist if the person being advertised isn't the person the thread is about.

If it means more money for the site, then I'm here for it. We all know ATRL needs more money to solve the server problems, etc. it's been having. Do any of you seriously have a problem with that?
