I'm one of the guys behind Fanity, and a long time lurker of ATRL.

I'm improving the matching between the thread topic and the Fanity integration, so irrelevant matches like @Golden and @loco mentions will be reduced.

I'm also thinking of ways to make the Fanity integration more interesting to ATRL users beyond the now static "become a fan" button, so you might see it change in appearance & functionality once in a while. Maybe a "notify me" when threads regarding a certain artist on ATRL arises?

In the end we hope it will trigger you to build a profile on the Fanity site. Any feedback & issues are always welcome.

Fanity itself is pretty cool, it just doesn't add anything. It's basically all your favorite artists' tweets and status updates, cluttered with gossip articles and paparazzi pics. For me it would be more useful as a way to track lesser known artists that I like but don't always pay attention to all the time, just so I'm alerted if they're releasing anything new or if there's any other big news. But for tweets and status updates I can go to Twitter or Facebook, and for gossip and pics I can go to gossip sites or a forum like ATRL. I don't need it all in one stream, it's too much. Of course the site has just launched, so it can only get better. I hope it does, cause the potential is there.

I remember one time there was a thread about artists who don't write their own songs (or something) and Rihanna was the Fanity. That shady bitch

To the people that are removing via AdBlock - Is the Fanity integration affecting your viewing experience in any way? Would you rather us not take steps that lead to more stability on the site?

Considering it is something that has to 'load' too on the page. If you block it via AdBlock, it won't have to load and maybe even improve speed compared to the same page that has enabled Fanity.

When it was first introduced it was annoying, but now I hardly notice it.

I find it kind of useless. It's not a big deal, so I don't see why people adblocked it. I don't really notice it to be honest.
