I hope for GaGa's sake she stops listening to her fans/her followers on twitter, because it's become obvious that A) they have no clue what they are talking about, B) nothing she does will satisfy them and C) she's too talented to let a sea of cowards tear her down with every video she releases.

"Too weird" =/= exciting
"Too long" =/= exciting
Toned down =/= boring
The opposite of "too weird" and "too long" is not "too boring". The correct opposite would be "short and simple" and the opposite would and should have nothing to do with how exciting the video is. There are COUNTLESS simple videos that are far from boring. Beyonce - Single Ladies, Diva, Video Phone, Crazy in Love, Me Myself & I, Irreplaceable. Mariah Carey - My All, Dreamlover, Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, We Belong Together. And that's just the people I stan for. And I'd add Lady Gaga - Just Dance, Poker Face, Love Game, Eh Eh. All the mentioned videos are far from "too weird" and "too long" and are not boring at all.
It is not hard to make a music video that isn't weird and long and boring. This video is boring. As hell.
So don't try to act like it's the audience who's too fickle and doesn't know what the **** they want from Gaga. That's not the case at all.
I'm just saying.

I don't see how that would take away from it? That's kind of the feeling of the song to me.

This is so sad! I really love this song and was really looking forward to this video, I mean, all I wanted was it to do the song justice! I don't care about mermaids and whatnot, I just wanted a GREAT video for a GREAT song!

As someone who has studied filming and editing (and loves every gaga video), I can say this is truly horrible. Hard to watch. Sloppy.
The framing, the camera movements and jerking ugh I cant even
My professors would tear this apart if I ever submitted anything like this.

im hoping the edge of glory goes #1 in billboard. she deserves it so much with this song and video. way better than some trash in the top 10 right now.

who cares about the technicalities of the video, the common folk wont mind or even notice... its not a biggie IMO, and who cares about the professors who too might love GAGA! lol
i mean the video for me is great, SOME might look at it and judge it in the more technical details, but pleaaasseeee..... its about the concept and the song, its not like she in gunning for an OSCAR in CINEMATOGRAPHY or EDITING for this.

Watch it win VMA Video of the Year JUST because it's GaGa. Same goes to all these "positive" review, I know that deep inside they want to diss the **** out of her.
They don't want "Little Monsters" backlash so they are going on the safe routine.

Several of these reviewers bash the Born This Way and Judas videos while praising this video, actually.

There is no doubt that the video disappointed diehard fans. But I think a main reason for that is because little monsters expect a hell of a lot out of Gaga...and because we know what's been going on behind the scenes. A lot of people like boring videos haha
