Well murder is a sin, and suicide is murder, so I would say yes.

Yes, it is a sin. For other sins you can confess and be repented before you die, but obviously you can't with suicide.

Religious: God gave you life, and you took it away. Life is a gift.

Non-Religious: What does it matter if you have no religion? Life is the only thing you got, take it away and it's over. No sin, just the end.

My question to everyone who says yes because "God gave us life as a gift and suicide would be throwing it away" would be this: if God is real, wouldn't he know you're planning on killing yourself? Something I hear from Christians and Catholics all the time is that their God has life planned out already, and knows when we're all going to die. So wouldn't that be following along with your destiny that your God planned out for you? And also, what about God being forgiving of all your sins?

This isn't mean to be flamebait, it's a serious question. I hear people all the time saying "well, it was meant to be, God wanted this and that to happen". So wouldn't the same logic apply to suicide?
