a lot of users stated their opinions in this thread. it made me wonder why.

do pure sales really matter more than streaming numbers? or do people who say that have a special reason to say that? what are your thoughts on this particular issue?

Ugh I hate going into a thread and looking forward to the replies, only to see ATRL is having one of its glitchy moods.

It's not among industry professionals

It takes more to buy a song but streaming is still impressive......as long as it's not one song on the album that brings in all of the numbers.

They should remain separate entities

Having people actually spend money to support your music will always be more impressive than streaming.

Streaming is still a flawed system to measure, Sales are more accurate and trust worthy.

My only problem with SPS is when it counts towards album numbers and the way it's done now. I mean, if an album with a huge hit will have huge SPS numbers, but that's because of one song, and not because people are listening to the whole album.

Cause ATRL is stuck in the past.

This. The anti-SPS people on ATRL like to act like everybody agrees with them, when in reality the ENTIRE industry has moved on to SPS

Pure sale stans get butthurt cuz nobody streams their faves.

That does not mean, for example, selling 450k and with 100M streams is more impressive than selling 400k + 1B streams.

Not when it comes to representing what's popular, not when it comes to revenue, not when it comes to anything.

Oh and I "actually spend money" on my streaming service.
