This is a very difficult topic for me considering I'm still in the closet. I know many members on this site are gay, and would like to know if coming out was difficult for you, or are you still in the closet? I would like to read some stories cuz I'm considering coming out soon, but everything is looking very dark for me.

Wow i wish i had the strength and courage you possess, I think my parents would hate me if i ever told them. They expect grand kids and a beautiful wife for me. OH, the surprise they are in for.
^ Parents should not have "visions" for their kids, IMO. Just let the kid do what he/she does & parents should be proud of who their children are & what they accomplish in life, no matter if it fits their own pre-set "vision" or not.
My dad just always knew. We are best friends and he has even met a few of my ex boyfriends. I told him like when he asked me after I told my step mom no. After I said yes at 13 he said well regardless I love you no less and even more. You will always be my son and cant no one take that away from me. My family on the other hand ugh... a religious aunts who still havent come to terms and still try to convert me to straight. a damn shame. but yea its always gonna be different for everyone

Awe you have a cool and understanding dad. I feel like my parents are to conservative and wouldn't understand. They'd probably think it was just a phase Im going through.

one day they will have to learn to accept reality. Dont ever feel like you have to force yourself to come out the closet, it takes time dude. When you are ready you will do it. It takes a lot and not to pity you nut i mean I just feel bad that you feel like you have to live up to others expectations when you dont.
