Now I'm not the biggest Gaga fan but can we take the time out of our day to appreciate this pop staple?

It's so fun, the hooks, the synths, the lyrics, the overall feel of the album.
Some of it is giving me major Whitney teas, the string of 80's pop vibes is so vibrant.
Plus Gaga gave it great video's and it was an ERA.

REJOICE! Now let's wait and see if its big sister Joanne can outdo it.

The liner notes really capture the experience of the album I believe - if 'Born This Way' isn't the feeling you get driving down the Interstate 40 with the windows down and speakers blaring, I don't know what is.

It's only SO GOOD if your music library/knowledge is extremely limited. It's nothing more than ok.
There are several outstanding songs on the album (The Edge of Glory being the best), but half of it is garbage like Marry The Night, which brings the overall quality DOWN.

It's one of the best Pop music released in this century honestly. It was a good era to be a fan. So much promo, so much work, so much hype. Unlike Joanne, Gaga was everywhere with BTW. Literally on all TV spots, and figuratively everyone kept tabs on her.

I'm not sure Gaga can outdo BTW, but if she can I don't believe she'll be able to "outdo" the album's "era."

The average artists I listen to aren't any popgirls, but that's besides the point, I don't need to validate my taste to you.

It's a mainstream POP album, and for a mainstream pop album it's pretty good. She tried new and interesting stuff and although not everything may have worked I applaud her for trying when her peers weren't. If you had read the OP I said it was fun, meaning lighthearted and nostalgic. And THAT is why it's so good. I pity you can't even enjoy a fun pop album without your pretentiousness being in the way, bye.

The only one making assumptions here is you. It's better than your average "modern pop girl" album, but that's about it. There are dozens of outstanding female pop albums and BTW isn't one of them. The lyrics are badly written on most of the songs, the production is questionable.

If you want to listen to a quality female pop album try something like Ray of Light.
