i realize im making a generalization, but the truth is, most white southerners have been influenced by their parents and their parents and their parents who were old democrats, slave owners, and generally awful people that want to stay in the past and believe trump is great

Honestly, I think Trump is awful. But your question is pretty much the whole reason he is so popular. Many in the south and flyover country feel dictated to by the liberal agendas of the East and West coasts, and their vote for him is anti-establishment.

They come across that way, but it's because they love their culture, are very traditional, and typically highly religious. They're raised to focus on God more than science and education, so yeah they sometimes don't know how to critically think.

A lot of them are fat because they love their butter and don't know what a calorie is, they just know the more butter the better it tastes. Overall, however, they're extremely hospitable people, probably the nicest people in America as long as you don't say anything bad about Jesus or threaten to take away their guns. Do that and they'll turn a 360.

TBQH the Southern states have their hands out for that liberal money. Most of the Southern states take more money from the government than they pay in taxes but then you hear them complaining about paying for someone else when they aren't self sufficient.

Explain to me why people who can't afford to pay the bills get to make the rules? The Southern states have a lower population and less money but they get an oversized influence on the government against the will of those with the money and resources to take care of themselves.
