I'm fascinated by the limited fascination with Frank Ocean. It's interesting how (seemingly only on the internet) Frank Ocean is being touted as a "bold," "visionary legend" by fans. Conversely, I find both his music and visuals contrived and pretentious, and not in a good way. He's not interesting sonically or as a visual artist. I wondering what your opinions are on Frank Ocean.

I choose to believe that it's just a matter of the "hype" getting to his head and that he'll soon return to making actually good music with structure, melody and coherency, and preferrably lyrics that don't read like a self indulgent delirium.

Yes, he is very pretentious and manufactured. His Chipotle scandal made him seem very petty too me, and he also only came out when he released his album to use his sexuality for publicity for it.

I don't like his music nor can I relate to him. Idk, I just don't get the hype.
