Isn't Canada supposed to be more equal, free and more open to people? The two countries have similar immigration standards, but its much more easier for people in poor countries to gain citizenship. And its way easier to have you family become legal in Canada than in the US. So why aren't they making the trip to Canada?

The US has over 12 million illegal immigrants, who often get crap pay for near slave labor, are often killed or sold to sex traffickers when crossing the border, and have to deal with a country who treats them like garbage and going as far as to pass racist laws.

So why aren't these 12 million fleeing to Canada? For some countries Canada has a no Visa policy (for Mexico). Canada is actually making it easier for people to immigrate if their from south of the US border.

Too far away

They have to issue immigrating to the Midwest, Alaska, and the Northeast. Areas just as cold as Canada. And you will live with the cold if you want a better life.

Because Canada doesn't border any country but the US.

I'm saying why don't they travel to Canada? The US-Canadian border is a joke. Mexicans have a no Visa requirement. Its easier to get refugee status in Canada, becoming a legal immigrant is easier. And its easier to get you family included in citizenship.

Its more logical to enter Canada. Plus the country needs more immigrants since it has a declining birthrate.

It may be stricter than one would think? A friend of mine was deported despite having been adopted and moving there as a child.

Mexican still has a visa requirement, it won't be lifted until December of this year and the numbers of inmigrants will be limited.
And how do you want them to go into Canada, swimming the ocean around the USA?

To get to Canada you'd have to cross into the U.S. (on land, anyways).

It's too far... just to get kicked out. Besides for illegals (aka native americans) from south america it would be too expensive.

It would be a whole different story if Canada was next to Mexico, natives would be majority already.

The recent influx of Latinos is recent. Like around the 1960s/70s recent. Before that it was mostly a very few white Hispanics from Cuba, PR and Mexico. Who formed no community. They saw each other as different people and not Latino.

So if they can create such a community in a generation, they can do the same in Canada.

There's about 12 million in the US already. Some have been here for years already. The border between the US and Canada isn't as strict either. I'm just saying, if they want a better life wouldn't it be obvious to enter Canada?

A huge percentage of mexicans (and central americans, ecuadorians, peruvians, bolivians) are natives. Especially the ''illegal'' ones.

Ya'll do realize most illegal immigrants come via plane to the US legally and then just overstay their VISAs right?

Ya'll talkin' about crossing two borders and ****. Most Mexican immigrants are not hopping over fences and running thru the grass.
