I really wonder what the intentions of the military were. If they really for secularism Id' still be on their side but it looks more and more uncertain now.

You can't really know their true intentions though until they actually install a form of power. What they're saying might be just something to try to get some support. I've seen many say that the people who organized and initiated the coup are actually even worst than Erdogan and would want Turkey to be even less secular.

As someone said earlier, a democratically elected dictator is still a dictator.

Edit: Also a country in the process of Islamizing itself IS regressing as it's leaving those more atheist and secular values behind, which are very important.

You should live in Turkey then, its kind of easy to talk over there.

Islam is the main reason all of this is happening, the people who support Erdogan are ignorant bigots who'd do anything in name of him or religion. Sorry but nothing good comes out of Islam, its just poison. Turkey is one of the better ones still, just check rest of middle east. You need to educate yourself, you sound ignorant.

Do you know there are atheists and non-practising muslims in Turkey too? People can practise Islam but there is no need to push it down people's throats. And they got 49.5% in the last election so it's barely a majority.
