The Turkish government allows such means of attack with operations on land and airspace, as well as enforcement on the border to reduce the amount of people able to enter Syria. People that can then return to Turkey, even France, Belgium as we've known as of late to carry out attacks.

It's a matter of biting the bullet and responding to the bigger picture rather than the democratic reasons for this 'coup.'

You might be right, but if Erdogan really does support ISIS financially or in any other way, I think the US does want him ousted, but I don't think they would publicly state this until they no longer need Turkey's help in fighting ISIS.

Anyway, I hope Erdogan doesn't gain any momentum from this. Turkey doesn't need to move away from secularism, and I hope it wouldn't, because an Islamic theocracy or dictatorship would have no chance at joining the EU.

Hillary HAS to support Erdogan. So does Obama. So should Trump. If the coup fails, the US still needs Turkey to help block ISIS combatants from traveling into Europe. If the coup succeeds, any new government is not going to spurn the United States.

We're not Zimbabwe. We lead the free World, and we also lead NATO, which Turkey has pledged itself to. We're the big bad bully that's protecting Turkey from a much greater enemy like Russia. No Turkish government can afford to piss us off because pissing of the United States is going to also piss off Great Britain, France, and Germany. Turkey doesn't have that many non-Arab-country friends outside of NATO.
