i think a democratic legitimated dictator is still a dictator or in erdogans case at least some kind of oligarch. democracy does not mean people vote = everything is ok. human rights and theconstitutional legality are fundamental principles of a democracy too

also obama is not the dalai lama. turkey is an important partner for the fight against isis and he has to make sure whoever gets power will still collaborate. this is power politics, not a debate about morals

I'm starting to think that those crazy conspiracy theories that ISIS was created by the US government are right I mean Obama declares to do everything to fight against ISIS and yet now he is supporting a man who tightly cooperates with them. I mean it's logical to think that if Obama really wanted to defeat ISIS, he would support the military, especially considering the fact that Erdoğan was abusing democracy in Turkey - a perfect excuse to overthrow the government for the US, they've used that excuse in the past.
